Ingredients

2 slices of crusty baguette or ciabatta bread

2 tablespoons herbed cream cheese

4 slices of prosciutto

4 slices of salami

2 ounces of brie cheese, sliced

4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon whole grain mustard

¼ cup arugula or mixed greens

6-8 slices of dill pickles

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Bread: Slice the baguette or ciabatta in half horizontally. If desired, lightly toast the bread in a skillet or toaster for added crunch.

Spread the Cream Cheese: On one side of each slice of bread, evenly spread the herbed cream cheese to add a rich and creamy base for the flavors.

Layer the Meats: Start by laying down the prosciutto slices on top of the cream cheese on one slice of bread, followed by the salami slices. Make sure to slightly overlap them for a better taste in each bite.

Add the Cheeses: Next, add the sliced brie cheese, followed by the sharp cheddar cheese over the meats. These cheeses will complement the flavors of the cured meats beautifully.

Spread the Mustard: On the other slice of bread, spread the whole grain mustard for a tangy kick, balancing the richness of the cream cheese and meats.

Layer the Greens and Pickles: Add the arugula or mixed greens on top of the cheese, then layer the dill pickle slices over the greens for tanginess and crunch.

Drizzle with Honey (Optional): If you enjoy a sweet contrast, drizzle a tablespoon of honey over the pickles.

Assemble the Sandwich: Carefully place the mustard-spread slice of bread on top of the other, so all the delicious layers are sandwiched together.

Slice and Serve: Cut the sandwich in half diagonally for easier handling. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if using, and serve immediately.
