Cheesy Sausage Breakfast Casserole

1 pound breakfast sausage, casings removed

8 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

4 cups frozen hash browns (thawed, or 2 bags of pre-cooked ones)

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.

      Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt until well combined.

        Combine Ingredients: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the thawed hash browns evenly on the bottom. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the hash browns. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and hash browns.

          Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly on top of the casserole mixture.

            Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown, and the egg is fully set.
