Ingredients

4 large flour tortillas

2 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Apple Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Create Tortilla Chips: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice each tortilla into 8 wedges, resembling chips. Arrange the tortilla wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush with Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and vanilla extract. Brush each tortilla wedge generously with the butter mixture.

Sprinkle Cinnamon Sugar: In a separate small bowl, combine any remaining sugar with a sprinkle more of cinnamon (about 1 teaspoon). Sprinkle this cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered tortilla wedges.

Bake the Chips: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tortilla chips are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Add Apple Topping: Once the chips are done, remove them from the oven and carefully layer the cinnamon-apple mixture on top of each chip while they are still warm, allowing the apples to slightly soften.

Serve: Let cool slightly, then serve warm as a delightful snack or dessert! You can also pair them with a side of caramel sauce or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
