Creamy Alfredo Mushroom Bake

8 oz fettuccine pasta

2 cups mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button)

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Sauté Mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

        Make Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat, and pour in the heavy cream. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

          Combine: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and gently toss until the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce. Fold in half of the mozzarella cheese.

            Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the creamy mushroom pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

              Add Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly on top.

                Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                  Garnish: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
