8 oz (225g) of your favorite pasta (fettuccine or penne works well)

2 tbsp olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 cup fresh spinach leaves

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (plus more for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Cook the Pasta: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

    Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

      Add Tomatoes: Stir in the crushed tomatoes and let them simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
