Ingredients

1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Olive oil cooking spray

Optional: Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Green Beans: Start by washing the green beans thoroughly and trimming the ends. Pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure they crisp up nicely.

Set Up Breading Station: In one shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. In a second dish, beat the eggs until well combined. In a third dish, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Coat the Green Beans: Dredge each green bean in flour, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs followed by coating it in the seasoned panko mixture. Make sure each green bean is evenly coated for maximum crispiness.

Arrange in Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil cooking spray. Layer the breaded green beans in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between them for airflow.

Air Fry: Cook the green bean fries in the air fryer for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. You want them to be golden brown and crispy. If they need more time, continue cooking in 1-2 minute increments.

Serve: Once crispy, remove the green bean fries from the air fryer. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese while still hot. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or marinara.
