Ingredients

1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Wash the Brussels sprouts thoroughly, trim the ends, and cut them in half. This helps them cook evenly and ensures that the cut sides get crispy.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously, until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat.

Season the Sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes if using. Pour the warm garlic butter over the Brussels sprouts and toss well to coat evenly.

Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer, cut side down. This maximizes browning and crispiness. Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the outside, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Add Cheese (Optional): If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting for a cheesy finish.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Serve immediately as a delicious side dish or snack!
