Easy Beef and Vegetable Stir-Fry

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional for depth)

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions
 

Prep the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef, soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well to coat the meat and let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.

    Heat the Pan: In a large wok or frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

      Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the beef and set aside.

        Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil, followed by the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then add the mixed vegetables. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, tossing frequently until the veggies are tender but still crisp.

          Combine and Finish: Return the beef to the pan, adding the oyster sauce (if using) and sesame oil. Toss everything together for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

            Serve: Transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
