Ingredients

3 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp preferred)

1 cup pure maple syrup

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1 cup granola or crushed cookies (for topping)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: Wash, peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, 1/4 cup of maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg to coat. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Make the Cream Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, remaining 3/4 cup of maple syrup, and vanilla extract until it softens and stiff peaks start to form.

Layer the Ingredients: In a rectangular baking dish (9x13 inches works well), spread a thin layer of the cream mixture on the bottom. Next, arrange half of the marinated apple slices evenly over the cream.

Repeat the Layers: Add another layer of cream on top of the apple slices, followed by the remaining apple slices. Finally, cover with the rest of the cream mixture, smoothing out the top with a spatula.

Freeze: Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid, and place it in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours or until completely frozen.

Slice and Serve: Once the dessert is frozen, let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes for easier slicing. Cut into squares or slices and serve topped with granola or crushed cookies for added crunch. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Enjoy: Relish in these refreshing, creamy apple maple slices that blend the flavors of autumn with a delightful frozen twist!
