8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine

1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)

2 cups broccoli florets

4 cloves garlic (minced)

1/4 cup olive oil

Zest and juice of 1 large lemon

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. During the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot. Drain and set aside.

    Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

      Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

        Combine Ingredients: Once the shrimp are cooked, add the cooked pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Pour in the lemon juice and zest, tossing everything together to combine well. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes as desired.

          Finish & Serve: Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Toss until incorporated. Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
