Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1 cup fresh basil pesto

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup diced sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 package (1 lb) puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Turkey Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine Ingredients: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and everything is nicely combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Roll out Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets to smooth them out. Cut each sheet into 2-inch squares (you should get about 24 squares).

Fill Puff Pastry: Place about a tablespoon of the turkey mixture in the center of each square. Be careful not to overfill.

Seal the Puffs: Fold the corners of the pastry up to meet in the middle and press to seal completely. You can also use a fork to crimp the edges for an extra decorative touch.

Egg Wash: Place the filled pastry pieces onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve warm as an appetizer or snack.
