4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup chicken broth

1 packet (0.9 oz) onion soup mix

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 cup sliced mushrooms (fresh or canned)

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Optional: Cooked rice or mashed potatoes (for serving)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker.

    Mix the Sauces: In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken broth, onion soup mix, cream of chicken soup, and dried thyme. Stir until well combined.

      Add Aromatics: Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms.

        Season: Sprinkle black pepper evenly over the top.

          Cook: Cover the slow cooker with the lid and set it on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.

            Shred the Chicken: Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken breasts and shred them using two forks. Return the shredded chicken back to the slow cooker and stir to combine it with the gravy.

              Serve: Spoon the chicken and gravy mixture over cooked rice or mashed potatoes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
